Open Water Diver

The Open Water Diver Certification is a international certification that allows you explore the underwater world. The course consists of personalized training combined with in-water practice sessions to help you develop the knowledge and experience required to be comfortable and safe underwater. The program involves personalized training, combined with in water practice sessions to insure you have the skills, safety knowledge and experience required to become truly comfortable under water. The course includes online training, additional in class academics and pool training, diving rental equipment (mask, fins and snorkel not included), 4 open water dives and instructor fees. The course teaches you the fundamentals of diving includes: gear set up, mask clearing, entering and exiting water, buoyancy control, basic underwater navigation, regulator clearing, sharing air, safety procedures AND MORE! This certification allows you to rent gear and go diving any time any where and gives you the freedom to explore the underwater world.

How Long Does It Take?

The Open Water  Diver Course consists of an online course and 6 pool/confined water sessions. The course consists of three phases including: knowledge development through independent online learning, confined water dives to learn basic scuba skills, and finally 4 open water dives must be completed to finish the course. Open water dives can be completed in the spring or in a Southern location by referral.

What about  Referrals?

Talk to our instructors about referrals. You don’t have to do your certifying Open Water Dives in Lake Superior, you can complete the dives on your vacation with warm water and sunny weather. Ask us how!!

Cost?

Course fee: $520.00 + HST for instruction and education kit which includes: rentals, air fills, 4 class sessions and open water dives. The online course that must be completed before we begin dives costs an additional $200. Customers who purchase their required equipment from us will receive 25% off their open water dive fees. Customers who purchase their total diving system from us will receive 100% off their open water dive fees.
